Vintage Objects on a Red Cloth

Still Life with Lantern and Bottles

In this piece, I wanted to focus on the quiet simplicity of everyday objects. The vintage lantern, the worn ceramic teapot, and the bottles—some clear, some dark—create a visual contrast that invites closer inspection. The red cloth and the soft textures of the crumpled paper add depth to the composition, while the subtle use of light brings a calm sense of stillness to the scene.
I chose this combination of objects because of their varied shapes and textures, creating a rich tapestry of reflections, shadows, and highlights. The oil medium allowed me to layer the paint, giving each object a sense of presence and weight. The warm tones of the teapot and the cool glass bottles feel balanced, each one contributing to the tranquil atmosphere of the painting.

This work speaks to the beauty found in ordinary moments, captured with careful observation and respect for detail.
